Sky Cinema - Enjoy everything from cinematic classics to brand new blockbusters

Sky has exclusive rights to show brand new movies each week on the Sky Cinema Premiere channel, whilst the other movie channels such as Sky Cinema Drama & Romance, Sky Cinema Action & Adventure and Sky Comedy show films new and old, with the range of films refreshed and changed regularly so that there is always something different to watch.

Sky Cinema in HD is the best way to enjoy the spectacle of cinema in your own home. With high definition, the picture and sound quality is enhanced to give you a gripping and breathtaking viewing experience.  If your TV is HD-ready then selected titles are available in high definition, so you can enjoy your film with enhanced picture and sound.

Sky Broadband customers can also take advantage of Sky's On Demand services, which let you download content to watch when you like.

Sky Cinema Channels

Sky Cinema Channels are themed so that if you fancy watching a comedy or an action-packed blockbuster, you know where to look. The themed channels include Sky Cinema Comedy, Sky Cinema Action & Adventure, Sky Cinema Family and Sky Cinema Sci-Fi and Horror.

There are over 450 movies every week, as well as brand new movies airing on Sky for the first time with Sky Premiere. You can also enjoy themed movie seasons on Sky Cinema Showcase, with specials, box sets and collections on offer every week.

With the Sky Cinema Pack, you get the latest and greatest movies and an impressive choice, and when you can't decide which film to watch you can record one and watch the other, or record both.

Sky Cinema Premiere

Sky Cinema Premiere is Sky's flagship movie channel, showing brand new movies every single week. These releases have only been available previously by either pay-per-view, DVD or Blu-ray, and they include Hollywood blockbusters, Oscar-winners and independent films that have received acclaim.

Sky Cinema Premiere comes with the other Sky Cinema channels in a pack, and with Sky Cinema Premiere+1 you can catch the film a bit later.

Sky Store

Sky Store is a rental service available through your Sky box. It lets you order movies at the touch of a button and gives you a fixed rental period, during which you can watch as often as you like. You can also choose to buy and keep movies and download them to any device you want, whether it's a laptop, tablet or smart phone. Buyers can also have the DVD sent to their home, with titles updated regularly. 

The range of content available includes brand new movies released on DVD and Blu-Ray the same day. Your payment is charged on your next monthly bill, and there's no limit to the number of movies you can buy or rent.

Movies On Demand

Sky Store is not the only way to get films on demand with Sky. You can download from Sky's library of films using your Sky broadband connection. This means you don't have to wait for a film to be showing, you can just pick it from the list and get it sent to your set-top box via the web, ready for viewing whenever you choose.

You don't even have to wait for the download to finish, as you can usually start viewing a few seconds after beginning the download.

Users can also use Sky Go: Sky's online and on demand service.  Anything available with your own Sky package can also be watched on your laptop, PC, Mac or mobile. Simply sign in to Sky Go, and you can choose whether to watch live channels or pick from the on demand content.

How much is Sky Cinema?

Sky Cinema, which includes all 11 themed Sky Cinema channels, as well as on demand films and Sky Cinema live and online with Sky Go, costs £8 per month. That's on an 18-month contract, but you have the option of less commitment with a rolling contract which costs £10 per month.
