10 Lives – 5th April

Beckett, a cat rescued and loved by Rose, takes his pampered life for granted until he loses his ninth life, prompting him to embark on a transformative journey.

A British animated family comedy starring former One Direction star Zayn, comedian Mo Gilligan, and Sex Education’s Simone Ashley.

Rumble Through the Dark – 6th April

Underground bare-knuckle pit fighter Jack Boucher (Aaron Eckhart, The Dark Knight) bids to repay his debts in a desperate attempt to save the family home of his dying foster mother.

A gritty American action thriller with decent reviews all round, making for a solid watch for fans of the genre.

Megamind vs the Doom Syndicate – 7th April

Megamind returns to the big screen to take on his former villain team, the Doom Syndicate, with the help of his superhero friends.

Oppenheimer – 12th April

Oppenheimer tells the true story of Robert J. Oppenheimer, the American theoretical physicist who helped develop the first nuclear weapons during World War II.

Christopher Nolan’s latest epic blockbuster has seen widescale acclaim and plaudits, picking up almost every major piece of gold during award season, including Best Film at the Oscars, as well as nods to the film's biggest stars, Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders) and Robert Downey Jr. (Tropic Thunder).

It was the must-see film of the year, and now the 3-hour-long epic will be coming to your TV screens this month on Sky Cinema.

Sumotherhood – 13th April

Sumotherhood, a follow-up to 2011’s Anuvahood, sees two wannabe London gangsters getting wrapped up in the business of one of East London’s most notorious gangs.

Adam Deacon returns along with some brilliant cameos from the likes of Ed Sheeran, Lethal Bizzle and, get this, Jeremy Corbyn!

Spoiler Alert – 14th April

Spoiler Alert is an unsung tearjerker from 2022, starring Jim Parsons (The Big Bag Theory) and Ben Aldridge (Fleabag).

Based on the 2017 memoir Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies by Michael Ausiello, it tells the heartbreaking story of a TV writer whose partner is diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Blackberry – 19th April

One of 2023’s more underrated films, Glenn Howerton (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) assumes the role of Jim Balsillie, one of the men behind the rise of Blackberry mobile.

Blackberry is a comedy-drama, telling the fated story of the once major player in the mobile phone market.

The movie is a fun take on the brand's tragic rise and fall, and despite falling short of expectations at the box office, is widely regarded as a solid film - one that certainly should be added to your list.

Relax, I’m From the Future – 20th April

A time traveller named Casper (Rhys Darby, The Boat That Rocked) escapes his life from the 22nd century and sends himself back to the 2020s with the intention of building a comfortable and inconspicuous life.

He befriends Holly (Gabrielle Graham, The Expanse), who helps him in his plans, but when they meddle with things too much, these plans are thrown to the wind.

Miranda’s Victim – 21st April

In 1963, Patricia “Trish” Weir’s life was changed forever. Her actions led to the transformation of the American legal system.

Miranda’s Victim tells the horrible-turned-hopeful true story of Weir and the trials and tribulations she faced to ensure more safety for her nation that stemmed from her tragedy.

Strays – 26th April

Will Ferrell (Eurovision Song Contest), Will Forte (MacGruber), Jamie Foxx (Ray), Isla Fisher (Confessions of a Shopaholic) and Sofia Vergara (Modern Family) are amongst the stars that feature in this fun comedy from 2023.

Reggie, a dog abandoned by his lowlife owner Doug, befriends a foul-mouthed Boston Terrier and his gang of strays.

The new friends team up, determined to get Reggie back to his home and subsequently get their revenge on Doug.

The Lesson – 27th April

Liam Sommers (Daryl McCormack, Peaky Blinders) is an aspiring young writer who accepts a tutoring position at the family estate of his idol, author J.M. Sinclair (Richard E. Grant, Spice World).

Unfortunately for Liam, he realises he is caught up in the family’s web of secrets.

The Starling Girl – 28th April

A 2023 American coming-of-age drama, following Jemima “Jem” Starling (Eliza Scanlen, Home and Away) as she struggles with her place within her Christian fundamentalist community in Kentucky.

Sky Premieres are top films that have arrived onto Sky Cinema most recently, with the biggest films getting a major highlight.

These Sky Premiere movies often include some of the year’s biggest releases or major blockbusters from the year prior, with this month bringing the year’s mega winner during award season, Oppenheimer.
