First trailer for new Sky drama Landscapers
Olivia Colman and David Thewlis star as real-life killer couple Susan and Christopher Edwards.
Sky has released the first trailer for its new limited series Landscapers.
Described a mix between murder mystery and romantic fantasy, the series will serve as a loose adapataion of the story behind the 2014 Mansfield Murders case.
Academy-Award winner Olivia Colman and Harry Potter’s David Thewlis star as quietly eccentric couple Susan and Christopher Edwards who shot and killed her elderly parents back in 1998.
After burying them in the back garden of their Nottinghamshire home, the pair spent the next 15 years using her dead parent’s money to fuel the creation of an elaborate fantasy world spending nearly all of it on classic Hollywood memorabilia.
“As the investigation moves forward, inspired by Susan’s obsession with old Westerns and classic cinema, the fantasists cast themselves as Hollywood heroes in narratives of their own invention,” reads the official plot synopsis.
“Powered by Susan’s extraordinary imagination, Susan and Chris’s fantasy world provides a much-needed sanctuary from real-world horrors and their own clawing guilt but also threatens to undo them completely.”
Created and written by Ed Sinclair as his debut project, the show consists of four hour-long episodes all of which were directed by Flowers’ Will Sharpe.
Landscapers will be available to stream in its entirety from Tuesday 7th December on NOW. Alternatively, you can catch each episode from that date weekly on Sky Atlantic.
